Kristen Bingaman, Mom, PT, RYT, Certified Health and Wellness Coach

Hey There! My name is Kristen and I am The Resilient Rehab Mama. After years of searching for my identity as a provider and a human, I finally feel like I have arrived! Whatever that really means, right!?!
I guess to me it means I’ve had lots of life experiences in my nearly 40 years. I’ve had some super highs and some really terrible lows.
- Marrying my best friend
- Exploring the states as a travel PT
- Supporting my Mom during Stage IV cancer
- An unexpected pregnancy
- Multiple rounds of work related burnout
- And surviving a global pandemic as a frontline provider
Just to name a few…
Through every step of the way, I have chosen to dive headfirst into this amazing whirlwind that I call life!
I am really proud to say that I have not just survived, but I have learned to thrive. Using each unique experience as an opportunity for exploration and growth. Now don’t get me wrong, I certainly had and continue to have my moments of self doubt, self pity, and even self despair. But I have learned to appreciate the experiences that life offers. Some good, some not so great. They have all brought me to this point.
And for that I am grateful.
The Resilient Rehab Mama is a compilation of those experiences and of the things that I have learned along the way. My journey from a rather rigid, Type A, new grad PT who thought she was ready to save the world to the broadly trained, holistic practitioner and Mom who no longer sees the world as black and white.
I began my transition with STOTT Pilates and later completed my 200 hour yoga teach training, with advanced study in yoga for chronic pain, Mindful Yoga Therapy and Kidding Around Yoga. In 2018, I became one of the first cohorts to complete a National Board Certification in Health and Wellness Coaching. I have had the opportunity to create an integrated health clinic for chronic pain patients as well as to present on the benefits of utilizing complementary health modalities within traditional treatment approaches. By far, the thing that I have enjoyed the most has been speaking to and creating programming to support staff well being.
Today, I make my home in Central Maine with my husband, my seven year old daughter, and our cat, Bernice. I now work full time as a health coach and educator, continuing to offer a broad range of wellness opportunities to support hospital staff members and sharing yoga and mindfulness with the next generation. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, coffee, cross country skiing, hiking, and being anywhere near the ocean!
